Howdy! I'm a lurker usually, but have a question or two that i think you knowledgable folks might be able to help me with....Please?!?!
I have a 7 year old Dell Dimension computer. Sure would like to buy a new one, but this one is going to have to last me a bit longer. My computer is currently running Windows98SE. I have finally caved in and purchased a WindowsXP upgrade to install. I have several corrupted Windows files on this old computer, scars from old viruses, I think. Anyway, my question(s) is/are:
Can I just install the XP upgrade over 98? Or do I need to re-install 98, to try to repair the corrupted files, then load XP? OR do I need to un-install 98, re-install 98, then install XP?
My daughter forced my hand at an upgrade when she bought me a really cool MP3 player for my birthday, and I cannot even load the software for it until I get XP!
Thanks for any help anyone can render! I have sure learned a lot from this tip board.
